Stellaluna

Based on the beloved story about friendship and acceptance by local Carlsbad author, Janell Cannon, this adaptation by Aleta Barthell tells the story of Stellaluna through puppetry and original music by Korrie Yamaoka.

This show stars all actors with neurodiversity and has been touring to schools throughout San Diego County. A sensory friendly and fun-filled show!

Commissioned by New Village Arts Theatre (Carlsbad, CA).

“I wrote the music for this show specifically with neurodiverse actors in mind. I hand selected instruments and created rhythms that would feel soothing while also creating the tropical sonic world where Stellaluna and their bat friends live.”

- Korrie Yamaoka
